The "Hand in Hand for Health Promotion" public welfare campaign is set to launch in Hebei to strengthen defenses for cognitive health among the elderly
Actively addressing population aging and safeguarding the cognitive health of the elderly. On May 16, 2026, the Hebei regional launch event for the "Hand in Hand for Health Promotion-Public Awareness and Training Campaign on the Prevention and Treatment of Dementia in the Elderly" will be held in Shijiazhuang.
Organized by the China Health Promotion Foundation and hosted by the Vascular Cognitive Impairment Branch of the Hebei Society for the Prevention and Treatment of Cerebrovascular Diseases, this event aims to implement national strategies for the prevention and treatment of dementia, improve the standard of dementia care in Hebei Province, and inject new momentum into the "Healthy Hebei" initiative.
Currently, China's population is aging at an accelerating rate, and the incidence of dementia and related cognitive disorders is rising year by year. This has become a major public health and social issue that severely impacts the quality of life for the elderly, increases the burden of family care, and constrains the development of elderly health services. As a province with a large population, Hebei has a vast elderly population, and efforts to prevent and treat cognitive health issues among the elderly face severe challenges, making it urgent to establish a scientific, standardized, and comprehensive prevention and treatment system.
In active response to the requirements of the "National Action Plan for Addressing Dementia in the Elderly (2024-2030)" jointly issued by the National Health Commission and 14 other departments, the China Health Promotion Foundation has launched this public welfare initiative. Focusing on the three core pillars of "public science education, professional training, and technological empowerment," the initiative aims to drive the implementation of dementia prevention and control efforts at the grassroots level.
The event will provide systematic public education and professional training for medical staff at healthcare institutions, elderly care service providers, community workers, and the general public in the Hebei region. It aims to enhance scientific understanding of dementia among all sectors of society, dispel misconceptions, and strengthen awareness and capabilities regarding early screening and intervention.
At the launch event, leading domestic experts in the field of cognitive impairment will gather in Shijiazhuang to engage in in-depth discussions on core topics such as the planning of dementia prevention and education initiatives in Hebei, as well as cutting-edge advancements in AD neurostimulation. These discussions will help clarify the direction and provide guidelines for cognitive health prevention and treatment efforts among the elderly in Hebei. Concurrently, the expert team will conduct specialized training on Alzheimer's disease prevention and treatment, covering key topics such as early identification of AD, standardized screening and diagnosis protocols, and intervention treatment plans, thereby helping frontline professionals enhance their professional service capabilities.
As a key technical partner for this event, HSAP will showcase its proprietary ADDS, ADTS, and ADMS systems-a full-cycle, closed-loop management suite for the screening, diagnosis, training, and treatment of cognitive impairment. These devices integrate advanced medical technology with intelligent algorithms to enable rapid and accurate screening for cognitive impairment, personalized rehabilitation training, and scientifically grounded therapeutic interventions, thereby establishing an integrated prevention and treatment model encompassing "prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and care." Through on-site equipment demonstrations and hands-on explanations, the event aims to deepen the concept of integrating medical care with prevention, promote the deep integration of cutting-edge technology with grassroots prevention and control efforts, and help ensure that dementia prevention and control initiatives in Hebei are effectively implemented, with improved quality and efficiency.
The launch of this public welfare training session in Hebei represents a significant initiative by the China Health Promotion Foundation to collaborate with local forces and advance the prevention and treatment of cognitive health issues in the elderly. It also serves as a concrete practice for Hebei Province in implementing the Healthy China strategy and actively addressing population aging. In the future, as a series of educational and training activities continue, a province-wide network for dementia prevention and education, along with a professional workforce, will be gradually established across Hebei.
