The China Health Promotion Foundation's Public Welfare Training Program on the Prevention and Treatment of Dementia in the Northwest Region Will Officially Launch in Xi'an
Currently, China's population is aging at an accelerating rate, and the incidence of dementia and related cognitive disorders among the elderly is rising year by year. This has become a major public health challenge and social issue that seriously threatens the physical and mental health of the elderly, significantly increases the burden on family caregivers, and hinders the high-quality development of elderly healthcare services.
To fully implement the core requirements of the "National Action Plan for Addressing Dementia in Older Adults (2024–2030)," jointly issued by the National Health Commission and 14 other departments, and to enhance scientific understanding of dementia in older adults and early intervention capabilities across all sectors of society, the China Health Promotion Foundation has launched the "Health Promotion Hand-in-Hand-Public Awareness and Training Campaign for the Prevention and Treatment of Dementia in Older Adults." The first phase of the campaign will be carried out in the Northwest region.
The kick-off meeting for the first phase of the Northwest Region Specialized Public Welfare Training Program is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Xi'an Nanfang Hotel (China Railway Xi'an Center, Zhangba First Road Metro Station Branch). HSAP cordially invites industry colleagues, relevant organizations, and members of the public to attend and discuss strategies for prevention and treatment.
This conference is hosted by the China Health Promotion Foundation and organized by the Neurology Branch of the Shaanxi Provincial Society of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine. The event brings together leading experts in the field of cognitive impairment from the Northwest region and across the country to Xi'an to discuss strategies for the prevention and treatment of dementia in the elderly: Dr. Qu Qiumin, Vice President of the Cognitive Impairment Branch of the Chinese Geriatrics Society; Vice Chair of the Alzheimer's Disease Branch of the China Association of Geriatric Health Care; Dean of the Northwest Cognitive Academy; and Director of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University; Dr. Zhang Yi, Director of the National Health Commission's Neurology Residency Training Base; Vice Chair of the Brain Cognition and Health Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society; and Director of Gansu Provincial People's Hospital; Dr. Zhu Aiqin, Director of the Qinghai Branch of the National Clinical Center for Geriatric Diseases, Standing Committee Member of the Cognitive Impairment Committee of the Chinese Geriatrics Society, and Vice President of the Northwest Cognitive Academy; as well as authoritative experts and academic leaders in neurology, geriatrics, and health management from provinces and regions across Northwest China-including Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, and Xinjiang-all attended the conference. Together, they formed a formidable expert think tank to provide professional academic support for the event.
As a leading enterprise in the field of cognitive health management, HSAP was invited to provide technical and equipment support for this public welfare initiative. At the launch event, HSAP will showcase its independently developed "screening + diagnosis + training + treatment" closed-loop management system for cognitive impairment, leveraging cutting-edge technology to advance public welfare efforts in the prevention and treatment of dementia.

The event will use this public welfare training as a bridge to integrate the entire chain of policy implementation, knowledge dissemination, skill enhancement, and technological empowerment. It aims to gradually address the shortcomings in dementia prevention and control in the Northwest region, advance prevention efforts to an earlier stage, extend scientific prevention and treatment concepts to more communities and families across the Northwest, help more elderly people avoid the distress of cognitive impairment, and safeguard a happy and fulfilling later life.
